Life is pretty simple when going camping. But sometimes all a girl needs is some sun and an inflatable swimming pool. Located in the middle of the French Countryside, my quick getaway couldn’t have been more perfect. Barbecue every night, no make-up, friends, lots of stars, family, the same swing-set as 25 years ago, the familiar sound of airplanes, drinking sangria till early morning, dogs, jumping into rivers, making cocktails at 6pm a routine, childish antics, great times.
With my wanderlust on my mind, I found this beautiful editorial shot by Jette Jors in – of all magazines- a horse riders journal. I’m in love with the styling and especially the lighting in these photos. A perfect balance between delicate femininity with the silk and lace fabrics and the masculine country boots and heavy jackets. Whisk me away to your country farm please?
A new day, a new song to put on repeat. I saw Ben Howard live for the first time a couple of weekends ago at Rock Werchter and was quite amazed by his show. A couple of days ago, I discovered “Esmerelda” and there something about the darkness of the song that I really like. Might not be the perfect summer song, but it is the perfect song to put on during the next thunderstorm.

I for one am very ready to get back on the road again. Friday I have a 4 day get-away planned to Mid-France. How about you, when are you planning on taking off for a holiday?
The golden hour, the last hour before the sun starts to go under is the perfect time for a bit of relaxing at the harbor and taking some pictures. I absolutely love this jacket, the shape, the transparant sleeves, it’s just perfect. As you already know I’m also a big fan of the ripped denim. This 501 was customized to my liking in the Antwerp flagship store. It has a great color of denim (something you apparently only start thinking of when working in the industry) and of course of the ripping across the knee.
As some of you might have noticed, I was happy as a clam this weekend when Rock Werchter festival started. With only one day of the festival on the books, so many more vestimentary options opened up. While I usually never would have taken my leather shorts on a 4-day Werchter trip, this one day though -with cloudy overcast- seemed like the perfect opportunity. Combined with my open back Hey Pilgrim top and trusted Vans, the outfit seemed quite a succes for the day at hand. Giving that with a pair of heels or off the festival grounds, this look wouldn’t work since it does show quite a lot of skin and has leather shorts as a focal point. Oh yeah, and also the first ever picture of (partly) my tattoo on the blog! More on the actual bands and the atmosphere to come soon.
I’ve been a bit quiet on the blog and this is the reason why, I was too busy preparing for Brazil, and now my first 24 hours here are already behind me! So as I’m getting used to my new surroundings I send you a postcard from Sugar Loaf mountain, a picture of possibly the most breathtaking view I have ever seen.
Only a one day ticket for Rock Werchter this but still very excited. Very ready to go dancing!
