Patricia and I saw Mumford And Sons for the second time and it was just as amazing as the first time around, maybe even more. We were completely mesmerized when they did an a capella set in the middle of the audience. Managing to get an entire Sportpaleis as quiet as a mouse, it was quite spectacular. But it wouldn’t be Mumford And Sons if we didn’t dance our asses off (which as you know is one of our favorite activities). Dear Marcus and co, please come back soon!
My first visit to Madrid for the C&A Reimagine Design challenge was short but very productive. Next to the design challenge I already told you about, I spent some brief time in the city center. I’ll tell you more about the Tribunal/ Chueca area shortly but for now I just wanted to highlight the DO Concept Store. With the inspiring name “DO”, founder Lucia Ruiz-Rivas wants to challenge visitors to become more creative and be more bold in their “doing things”. And this is just one reason why this concept store is a great first stop.
DO is a space that combines art, fashion and design. Selling brands such as Henrik Vibskov for fashion and Hay for home ware, they love their Danish brands (who doesn’t?). But they also include Belgian designer Christian Wijnants Read more..

At the dawn of their 140th anniversary, I’ve recently acquired my first pair of Levi’s 501 jeans, probably the most iconic jeans ever. I’ve had them customized, although I’ve never had a pair of shredded jeans in my life. That will take some getting used to, as will the boyfriend fit of the jeans… So I went online looking for some 501 inspiration!
I love the fact that the cut of these jeans is truly timeless, and the androgyny of it all makes it even better. I’m starting to love the idea of pairing them with a crisp white shirt or striped top, and maybe cutting them off in summer. Endless possibilities!
I have a theory in which great music in a movie is often an indication for what is about to come. This goes for “500 Days Of Summer”, “Drive” and definitely also for “The Perks Of Being A Wallflower”. Having seen this movie the second time around, it is now on my favorite movies of all times list. It has so many more layers than the classical coming of age movie. Halfway though the movie? Don’t think you know what’s going on, you haven’t seen nothing yet.
A quick snap from an outfit I wore last week. It was actually really sunny earlier that day, but when you’re in a meeting you can’t really go running outside to shoot an outfit because the light is perfect, can you? Yeah, that would be a tad over the top. So here’s to less than perfect light, and wearing some of my favorite pieces ever like this Dries Van Noten skirt and my grandmother’s purse, which makes me feel really grown up.
We saw a first flicker of spring here in Belgium this week, and oh how I loved it. I’m quite ready for sunshine on my face and bare legs, picknicks in the park, lighter jackets and drinking coffee on terraces with friends. Wardrobe wise, I’m really digging the velvet shirt above and the look below with the socks & brogues. Playful, and oh so perfect to celebrate the season. Bring it on! Read more..
A quick video about one of the Tao Inner Strenght training sessions in case the pictures aren’t credible enough. We hope it inspires you to go and exercise yourself.
The hardest look to get right -beauty wise- is the nude face. Surprisingly it takes quite a lot of make-up to make someone look like they aren’t wearing any. What you want to achieve is a glowing healthy expression by using skin tone colors. Something hat I’m yet to master.
We received an exclusive peek into the nude look that was created for the highly anticipated Isabel Marant FW13 show and couldn’t resist to share this with you. Read more..
I remember us being quite shocked that only one woman was featured in a Belgian playlist called “De Tijdloze“, listing the 100 best songs of all time. That woman was Sinead o’Connor, no Janis Joplin, no Florence And The Machine, no Kate Bush, no Ella Fitzgerald and no Patti Smith. Quite a crazy statement made by Studio Brussel listeners. This made us go back and think about how many female singers we actually listened to and I had to plead guilty (Patricia on the other hand did score some points). To this day, I still don’t know why most of my playlist consists out of all male bands.
Recently however I added a new female band to my playlist. I first got fascinated by Haim by their sense of style. After that I started listening to their music and recognized “Forever” and “Don’t Save Me” from the radio. This triggered me to put their record on repeat. The three sisters Este, Danielle and Alana Haim have been playing together all their lives and make music that is described as “nu-folk–meets–nineties–R&B”. To me they are the ultimate California sound and I feel like getting out my inner hippie and laying in the sun all day or go roadtripping. Their style is perfectly in sync with that feeling. Bohemian all the way but an individual dress sense nonetheless.
