When the invite for the collaboration between La Fille d’O, The Royal Ballet of Flanders, Think-Pink and JBC arrived in our mailbox we were quite surprised. Murielle Scherre is known to do things her own way so we were very curious to see what this collaboration would result in. The Royal Ballet and JBC approached Murielle Scherre simultaneously creating the idea of designing a collection that completely supports the needs of the dancers and aims to inspire women to become more active. Regular exercise reduces the odds of breast cancer significantly and that is why Think-Pink was a fourth and crucial element in this collaboration.
To develop the collection, Murielle Scherre attended a couple of dance training session and really looked and listened carefully to what the ballerinas would need. These dancing sessions are very intensive with the girls constantly changing their outfits by rolling up sleeves of their tops or their pants and that is why the collection is made with high-quality and natural materials such as silk, cotton and linen. In this manner she wanted to create “luxury through comfort, fit and fabric quality”. Consisting out of hoodies, reversible vests, a body, several tees and joggings, this collection is perfected to dance in but can also be worn for yoga, fitness or for slumming around the house.
The collection will be available in JBC stores from tomorrow, the 26th of February. I know what I’ll be wearing at my next training session.
