La Fille d’O for JBC

When the invite for the collaboration between La Fille d’O, The Royal Ballet of Flanders, Think-Pink and JBC arrived in our mailbox we were quite surprised. Murielle Scherre is known to do things her own way so we were very curious to see what this collaboration would result in.  The Royal Ballet and JBC approached Murielle Scherre simultaneously creating the idea of designing a collection that completely supports the needs of the dancers and aims to inspire women to become more active. Regular exercise reduces the odds of breast cancer significantly and that is why Think-Pink was a fourth and crucial element in this collaboration.

London – Pizza East

Ah, this is a true must visit on your London itinerary. Pizza East is a well known Shoreditch restaurant, where you can grab a quick and tasty bite before diving into the East London nightlife. But you can just as easily go for brunch there, and so we did on a very sunny sunday in november. An advocado sandwich, a coke, and the sunlight warming my face trough the windows is all I need to be happy.

So yes, it is snowing again here in Belgium. This grey weather is not only bad for my mood, the low temperatures aren’t doing my skin any favors. These are the products I use to protect my skin at the moment. Read more..

A couple of pics from last thursday. My mom and I had an appointment to choose collections for Lily and the Lady that morning and everything that could go wrong did. Mom spent two and a half hours stuck in traffic, there were no trams to be seen in Antwerp city, so I walked to my destination (hence the flats) and once we’d both arrived the computers in the agency went down so nobody could get on with their job. As always though, things turned out fine in the end. Quite pleased with the collection we chose: there are cute printed skirts and penguin sweaters and yellow turtlenecks. I almost can’t wait for next winter, but considering the blistering cold here in Belgium, I’ll take that summer weather first, please!

Yes, it is still way to cold and I soooo look forward to warmth. The time where you can wear your scarf and a light jacket as your main source of heat. I love wearing scarfs all year round and I also love this picture.

I’m so excited to let you know that I’ve started a new blog. You can find me on Rooftop Antics. See you there!

Knuckle It

Welcome to my newest accessories obsession, the mid or top knuckle ring. I usually like big statement rings but for the top knuckle, a small fragile golden ring should be perfect. When going for this look, simplicity is the way to go. What do you think, too much or just about right?

Tao Inner Strength week 1&2

In Dutch we have a saying “De wonderen zijn de wereld nog niet uit“. This basically means that miracles can happen. THAT is me exercising (or cleaning for that matter) and now, my body hurts all over. I was never made to exercise and am yet to be convinced that I will ever be. However, I have been feeling better about my physique already. Even though I feel that my body is perpetually trying to punish me for doing this (I officially have 6 parts of my body that are sore). But we are sticking with the program because believe or not, I think my stomach is already flatter. 6-pack here I come! Oké maybe not, but at least we’re on the good path.

After a heavy weekend I quickly wanted to share this Free People shortfilm. I’ve shown you the amazing monthly catalogues by this online store before and this movie moves me once again. Made beautifully and starring Girls actor Christopher Abbott -aka Charlie-.

Happy New Hair

I’ve been craving for some change hair wise lately, which caused me to conduct a bang cutting experiment a couple of weeks ago. This actually worked out great, I’m happy to have those bangs back after almost a year of absence. Then on friday I saw this video pop up on Into The Gloss, which intrigued me like crazy. You see, when it comes to hair (and other things), I am kind of a control freak. I like to have matters in my own hands, and if they don’t work out, well, it’s my fault and mine only. DIY ombre. They made it seem so easy. Before I knew it I was clenching a bottle of L’Oréal hairdye in my local store on saturday afternoon. For ten bucks, I could have a new hairstyle (well, new to me) or for the same ten euro’s, I could bleach my hair to death.

Swedish lunch with Filippa K

I was planning to write this post earlier, but well, then I spent most of this week being sick in bed and that did not happen. Oops. This friday feels like a monday to me, so it’s kind of the perfect moment to talk a little about the Filippa K spring collection.

I remember buying my first Filippa K items when I was about 16 and some of the pieces are still in my wardrobe. Like my perfect wool trousers, a go to on formal occasions, and my cotton shirtdress, elegant in its simplicity. When it comes to excelling in minimalism, nothing beats Scandinavian design. I always find it so refreshing. Declutter. Optimalize. Breathe.
