I have completely fallen for this editorial in Numéro China, the April 2012 issue. Using the dutch model Nimue Smit, photographer Txema Yeste set down a beautiful dramatic image. Looking more closely, you will see designs from Ann Demeulemeester, Haider Ackermann, Miu Miu, Yohji Yamamoto and Roberto Cavalli. This is definitely one to put on your wall.
Be prepared for total madness today, I am going to a concert of Paul McCartney tonight and I am totally freaking out. Ever since my boyfriend booked the tickets as a Valentines day present, I have been looking forward to this so much. In all honesty, I will behave like a teenager, and at some point, I probably will be crying. I know it’s silly, but I’ve been a fan of The Beatles for over ten years now. They’re my alltime favorites, and I can’t imagine that changing anytime soon. Or ever.
Paul is my favorite Beatle. John was just too much of a rebel for me. George was too much into sitars. And Ringo, well, he’s Ringo. I do truly believe that the chemistry between the four of them was crucial. But still, if I had to pick one Beatle, it would be Paul. Somehow, I never thought I’d see him preform. But today is the day I’ll see Sir Paul McCartney in the flesh. Here’s to hoping I won’t have a heart attack before the old man does.
Kim and I are on our way to the OLA Summer Lounge. I have been long awaiting the first summer party of the year and this is it. At 2 o’clock tonight the hour will be shifting as it is finally spring. We are very ready to enjoy our evening and party the hour away. This is what we will be wearing.
I’m planning on staying in Antwerp this weekend and was still looking for the party that will make my Saturday evening. Keeping with the spirit of my summer cravings, Kim and I found the perfect place to spend our Saturday night. This does happen to be the time of year when you can finally take all your summer clothes out of hiding. How does a beach, view over the water, free ice cream and great music sound to you (did I mention this is all for free)?
This weather makes me go a little bit crazy with daydreams. This new show that I’m following , Sons Of Anarchy, doesn’t really help either. My mind is full of roadtrips, beachsides and festivals. I’m desperately craving for a roadtrip through Italy and still need to properly get out of Europe.
Today however was a pretty satistisfying day for me because all my holidays got approved by the office. So far, the only trip on the books is a roadtrip with the girls to the south of France. Something that I didn’t expect is that I also got the days off to go to Rock Werchter! Normally this is a very difficult period at the office but I was able to get them anyway. I love that type of festivals and look forward to it most part of the year (as you already read here and here), therefore you can understand my excitement. Happy dances and jumping jacks all the way. So feel free to tag along in my daydreams. Can you imagine yourself on the beach yet?
What is better on a sunday afternoon than some home decor inspiration. Taylor Tomasi Hill does not only have an amazing sense of style -as you have seen quite a lot of on E&L-, she also has a knack for decorating. We already showed you a little bit of her old West Village apartment and would also like to give you a peek into her new Chelsea apartment.
I absolutely love the feeling of these pictures. Don’t they feel light and crisp, like a soft summer breeze? I guess it’s the combination of the light, colours and fabric that makes these images so sweet. I can almost smell summer in the air. Beautiful.
Browsing along the internet you can cross paths with some beautiful things. One of them is the illustrations blog, Silk Draws. In her drawings, she bottles the emotions and shapes of women perfectly. The blog is not only about illustrations, she also posts about the images that inspire her and writes about her experiences. I have to be honest and admit that I have officially gone through the entire website. Besides, I have a thing for antlers. Sit back and enjoy.
I seem to be having a real thing for pastel blue lately, as you can see by these new items I got. I would say bought, but sadly, both the scarf and cardigan were my grandmother’s, who passed away last week. She was 93 years old, awesome, and even though it was her time to go, she will be missed terribly by the big big family she leaves behind. Getting some of her clothes means so much to me. It feels like I’m keeping a part of her here.
On a lighter note: I completely fell in love with Les jeans de Chanel, and Coco Blue in particular. It’s now a part of my quite extensive nail polish collection. I just know I’ll be wearing this color all the time this summer!
In truth, we absolutely love Marni for H&M. We’ve been drooling over the collars, necklaces, dotted coat and brocade skirt ever since the images were released. We’re not a big fan of queuing up though, but if we would do it for one of the collabs, it would be this one. Because we’re busy girls, we might not be able to get our hands on the Marni goodies tomorrow. I might stop by during lunch and check if there’s anything left. Here’s to hoping!
By the way, check out this pic of Kim during the press launch last week. Doesn’t she look great? She got mentioned on the Le Vif Weekend website, where she talked a little about her favorite piece of the collection. I can totally see her wearing this top! Anyway, what about you? Are you going to get in line?
