Truly taking over a boy’s closet

I recently bought my first necktie, which you saw here. I bought it at the stocksale of Ann Demeulemeester and I just havn’t been able to figure out how to wear it. So I turned to the solution of all Generation Y’ers: I googled it. Style icons wearing a tie. Surprisingly, this is a trend that hasn’t exploded yet. How to wear a bow tie on the other hand, would have been solved easily by this classic problem solving method. Diane Kruger has made several appearances with this playful accessory. She’s not the only one, also the British tv star Fearne Cotton, Rihanna and many more have used a bow tie to style up their outfits.

But wait, we weren’t talking about bow ties right? Back to styling neck ties which seems to be a greater challenge. All I could find (leaving out the acient Britney snaps) were the pictures below. I’m personally a fan of the skinny necktie. Who do you think wore it best: Kate Moss, Leighton Meester or Olivia Palermo?

I’m so excited to let you know that I’ve started a new blog. You can find me on Rooftop Antics. See you there!

  2. Kate Moss or Olivia! Leighton’s tie is still too wide… It should be a bit more smaller.
