These awesome canvas and leather Surface to Air wedges. I’ve been eyeing them ever since I saw them for the first time in London and still want them. So. Bad.
Madeira is as tropical as an island in Europe is ever going to get. On this island I spent a week snorking, driving around, learning how to dive and enjoying the Madeiran food. I couldn’t resist showing you the dolphins and whales in the wild before, but now I would like to show you a little bit of the rest. When going to Madeira, you can expect an abundance of tropical fruits, delicious fish and lots of nature. I would really recommend not staying too long in the ‘capital’ Funchal as the touristy feel of this island’s center gets a little much quite quickly. The rest of the island on the other hand is really amazing. If you’re into the outdoor sports, you can go snorkeling and diving (as I did) but also surfing, horseback riding in the mountains and most importantly for this island, walking. You can however also see the island by renting a car and by amazing yourself at the little roads that you manged to conquer (you might think that conquering is a little bit of an exaggeration, but really, it’s not). In this report, I’ll show you a little bit of Funchal.
A view of the harbor: every boat that comes in, leaves a small postcard on the wall of the harbor
The famous Reid’s Palace, a gorgeous hotel with a worthwhile Italian restaurant next to it
I think the element that I like to most about this photo is her messed-up hear. Alexa is the queen of those perfect imperfect looks, if you catch my drift.

There is a bit of a surfer chick inside me. It’s not only because I just went on a holiday (preview here, more soon to come) but I’ve always loved water and the feeling of sand underneath my feet. And lets not forget surf boys ;) I learned how to surf some time ago and last week I dabbled a little in the new world of diving. That is why I felt drawn to the new make-up line of M.A.C. However, the feeling of summer that comes to mind with this collection is not the only reason to look twice at this collection. The face of this campaign is the one and only Belgian mode Hanne Gaby Odiele. Personally I’m always there to support Belgian talent but doesn’t she look amazing?
Doesn’t Natalia Vodianova look stunning in this editorial from Vogue China that was shot by Peter Lindebergh? The crisp white she is wearing contrasts nicely with the chaotic backgrounds she’s in. I’m getting this modern In the Mood for Love vibe from this shoot. And that’s never a bad thing.
People who know me, know that I am a big animal friend. Therefore you can imagine my joy when I had the chance to see these beautiful wild dolphins and whales. I hope you can get some sense of the gorgeousness of seeing these animals in the wild. More Madeira stories to come soon.

I know you hear nothing but excuses lately. But it has been. So. Busy. In the past few weeks I’ve found and started a job at Belmodo Media (YAY!) and have moved (to a deluxe apartment in the sky-y-y-y). I have been neglecting Ella & Louise, my friends, and my health. But I couldn’t be happier. I have to take some time to get settled in, take a deep breath and go for it again. Don’t worry, I’ll be back. Big time.
After a long period of Internet Rehab, I finally got internet in my apartment! However, I will have to enjoy it another time as I’m packing to go on holiday to Madeira, Portugal. I haven’t been on holiday for almost 2 years and I’m sooooo looking forward to it. Hopefully I’ll get a chance to do some live blogging from a dreamish island. Now hoping that everything that I want to take will fit in my bag.
I am supposed to show you pics from my trip to Amsterdam, the pressdays, and a post that I’ve been working on for a while. Sadly though, I have a plane to catch to Munich in the morning, and I still have to pack. Instead, I will show you this picture I snapped in Paris last week of this handsome well-dressed gentleman.
Belgian readers will instantly know who he is, the Dutch will probably recognize him from Benelux Next Top Model (a bus of giggling school girls did anyway). To the people who do not know him: this is Jani Kazaltzis, one of Belgium’s best stylists. He works for TV and is absolutely adorable. Just so you know.
