LFW: Joanne Hynes/ Helen Steele

This first collection by designer Joanne Hynes and artist Helen Steele called “Les Guerriers” was one of my highlights during London Fashion Week. The collaboration lead to a colourful fashion show with a load of interesting textures and colours. A true gem!

“Les Guerriers” was inspired by Hynes’ Irish roots and combined fabrics like tweed, wool and jute were combined with fur and silk. I myself am no fan of the former, but I must admit that there was one piece in particular that combined fur with knitwear that looked like a piece of art. However, I am a much bigger fan of the printed babydoll dresses that were sent down the runway paired with colourful clogs and interesting hairdo’s.

The most stunning thing about the collection, apart from the prints, were the neckplates and collars. I would wear each and every one of them. Definitely a design duo to keep an eye on!
